This course is suitable for all staff who have public facing roles in sectors including: retail, hospitality, healthcare, the railway, public transport, prisons and schools.
Course objectives
- Understand what policies are in place to support staff in difficult situations which might
result in conflict and/or violence in the work place. We will tailor this to your company’s
own values/policies. - Explore how our behaviour affects others.
- Explore some of the additional needs and other factors such as poor mental health, that can affect an individual’s behaviour.
- Explore conflict management techniques.
- Explore de-escalation techniques and keeping yourself safe.
- Recognise and understand when an individual is becoming aggressive.
- Explore the laws around self-defence.
