This course offers a unique opportunity to gain a certificate with the University of South Wales in Policing Major Sporting Events.
The leadership and policing issues required for such events are complex and challenging to the individual and the organisation with possible far reaching consequences should a major incident develop.
Accordingly, this course aims to develop the knowledge, understanding, skills and attitude to perform the role of Police Commander at any major sporting event. Successful students will leave the course, not only with an academic qualification, but with increased confidence to apply: the knowledge and skills necessary to plan for a major sporting event; the structure used to control major sporting events and; the appropriate legislation.
The course is delivered by leading academics and very experienced former senior police officers.
Course objectives
